Homesteading

We have been here in Tennessee for almost 8 months now and we love it.  Although we miss our family, we would not move back to Ohio:)  We are finally getting the chance to pursue a new way of life.  We can finally raise our own chickens and turkeys, we could not do this at home because we raised commercial turkeys in a cramped barn and they were worried about diseases.  We now have chickens laying eggs, chickens and turkeys being raised for meat, free range and without drugs, ducks, pigs, were working on the dairy cows now.  We have plans to start a small dairy and sell cheese and milk, but its expensive.  We have decided to try to do this without a loan, good luck right.

Well it will be tough but we are out of debt and want to keep it that way.  We have been doing well with our store on EBay, look us up, naturalhomestead.  My husband has a woodshop and has decided to pursue picture frames to finance the dairy.  I am going to post some pictures of the frames below, this is only the beginning!  I almost forgot we spoke with a man who moved here from Indiana who does solar panels, affordably.  He builds them out of things from the junk yard, that's in the budget right!  We look forward to working with him in the next couple months to see how we can start to get off the grid.
